The Smeraldo card is the new waste collection service for the undifferentiated garbage: a bin with a drawer that can only be opened by a card, the Smeraldo (emerald) Card.
Already present throughout the historic city centre and in the Savena, Santo Stefano and Porto-Saragozza districts, the new bins are also coming to the San Donato-San Vitale district: all holders of the waste tax (Tari), both citizens and businesses, will receive the Smeraldo card, which will be used to open the bin and throw away non-sorted waste.
Together with the cards, you will also receive a code to activate the free app Il Rifiutologo and use your smartphone as a virtual Smeraldo card.
Family members or cohabitants residing in the same household can collect the card by filling in the substitute declaration (form A) and attaching a copy of their identity document.
If you are the holder of the Tari tax and you wish to delegate another person, you must fill in the proxy (form B) and attach a copy of your identity document and that of the delegated person.
If you have a business, you may delegate an employee or a different person. You must fill in the proxy form (form B) and attach a copy of your identity document and that of the delegated person.
In the event of loss or theft, you must complete the specific declaration and contact the Public Relations Office of the Revenue Department.
If you live in the historic centre or in the Savena, Santo Stefano and Porto-Saragozza districts and you have not yet collected your Smeraldo card, you can go to the Waste Tax Office (Ufficio Tassa Rifiuti) without making an appointment.
